(no subject)

semagic is broken, third times a charm:
i typed this last night but my connection timed out at some point between pressing post entry and dozing off, so here:

happy birthday to all the birthday people ive missed this week, (sup mengus), madeline's been really sick.
we went to the dr on tuesday, they checked for strep (her throat is kiiiilllling her), that came back negative
he did a flu swab, and came back a few minutes later and said "theres still four minutes left, but im sorry to say, it looks like its positive for influenza"
so, of course, im freaking out, right? because, hello? the flu? that is srs bzns. so i call mike & mom and let them know, theyre worried to death. i call mad's best friend's mum and leave her a voicemail, probably freaked her out.

doctor comes back and says "well, we barely dodged a bullet! the pink lines never met up".. well, thanks a lot, doc. theres something going on there, though, because there was a lot of pink.
so, other than a school excuse, that dr's visit did nothing.
not when i told him mad's been sick on and off, mostly on, since august 20th. not when we were getting ready to leave and my baby started coughing so hard that her face turned nigh purple and she caused herself to gag and throw up.
he basically told me to keep doing exactly what ive been doing that isnt helping at all. cold medicine with psuedoephedrine, vaporiser, tylenol/motrin for the temperature.
so frustrating. so. so. frustrating.
